Description by Marcel
I have made an outdoor kitchen with the aim of creating a fixed base on which to place the BBQ, grill pan or fries pan, for example. There is also plenty of space as a work surface. I also installed a double socket on the underside of the worktop. I used the U-concrete profiles to create the basis for the outdoor kitchen. The waterproof MDF panels from OPMAATZAGEN.nl form the substrate for the tiles and the 'intermediate plank'.
How I made this project
The U-profiles form the basis and are available in different sizes. This determines the height and width of the worktop. We opted for 40x40x50 (hxwxl). The worktop is 50 x 180 (wxl). The back wall is 70 high. Provide a stable and flat surface to place the concrete elements (you will need two people for this). I attached the planks to the concrete elements on the inside with right-angled brackets. I had the MDF panels cut to size and connected to each other with right-angled brackets. The worktop is 25 mm thick. The back wall 15 mm. The tiles are 20x20. When submitting the dimensions, make sure that you include the joints of the tiles (2 mm). In addition, the transition between the horizontal and vertical plane is decisive (I have drawn it out just to be sure).
Dimensions of my DIY project
180 wide, 85 high and 50 deep. The back wall is 70 high.
