We have transformed a simple IKEA piece of furniture into a beautiful piece of furniture with storage space and a desk to sit at. We used 27 mm Birch plywood.

Upgrade Ikea furniture with Plywood

Ikea SMÅSTAD. With perfectly cut 27mm Birch Plywood, this furniture is easy to assemble with a few screws. The SMÅSTAD furniture is quite simple in itself and super nice in this way with the beautiful wood and the leather handles.

When you align the top with the top of the furniture you can put it together from the inside screws. You also do this with both sides. The plank behind it as reinforcement is screwed down from the inside and the outside.

I additionally screwed the mitered corners from the outside to tighten the corner even more.

As a finishing touch, we will coat the furniture with a clear varnish to protect the wood and make the drawings in the wood even more visible.
