Description by Kevin
With the help of two Ikea cabinets and a sheet of plywood, we made a beautiful desk / play area for our daughter. We chose an 18mm birch plywood sheet because of its strength, quality and appearance.
How I made this project
We used an 18mm birch plywood sheet and have it cut to size (200.0 x 45.0 cm). The service was great and I was even able to adjust the size. We picked up the record ourselves. At home we sanded the panel and painted both sides with matt clear lacquer. The color has remained neat, but the plate is now smooth and easy to clean. After this we attached the shelf to the cabinets. We opted for double-sided tape. This was easy and sufficiently sturdy. The plate is quite heavy so it stays in place well. We preferred not to screw into the cabinets or the plate.
