Description of Maartje
We transformed a basic Pax wardrobe from Ikea into a custom-made wardrobe with doors that we made ourselves. The doors on the right side are 'fake'; behind them is the shower. We extended the bathroom precisely so that we could integrate this into the wardrobe wall. We wanted the doors to fit exactly from floor to ceiling. We painted the wardrobe in exactly the same color as the rest of the bedroom and added golden handles so that the wardrobe blends nicely with the rest of the room.
How I made this project
We measured the doors based on the Pax wardrobe that we had already made to the correct size. For this, we ordered custom MDF primed panels from OPMAATZAGEN.nl. The ceiling on the right side is not level, so we needed panels with a beveled edge. We then equipped them with hinge holes and applied a primer and a coat of paint. On the back of our shower, we placed battens so that the 'fake doors' would be positioned correctly to align well with the rest of the wardrobe.
