Are you looking for ways to give your interior a romantic and classic look? Francesca has created the perfect solution: a beautiful wall panel project, where both the timeless charm of wainscoting and the elegance of a classic design come together. This DIY inspiration project can transform your home too.
Transform your space with wall panels
In Francesca's inspiration project, we see how MDF wall panels adorn the walls and give the space a warm, inviting ambiance. She chose a subtle color, which fits seamlessly with her light interior. The panel lines match the clapboard style and bring out a nostalgic feeling.
Elegance in the study
The project is placed in a workroom, where it exudes peace and tranquility. This creates a pleasant and productive atmosphere, carefully chosen by Francesca to effortlessly combine productivity and style.

The completion of a stylish project
The fine finishing of this project is reflected in the precise details. The style of the project, consisting of classic and romantic design, is reflected in the graceful lines, the harmonious finish and the pastel-colored walls that contribute to the serene ambiance.
The advantages of MDF Blank 3 mm wood
MDF Blank 3 mm is an excellent choice for such interior projects. It is a versatile and durable material that is easy to work and paint. It offers a smooth surface for a neat end result and the consistency of the material ensures a uniform appearance of the wall panels.

Step by step guide
Preparation
- There was no room for real paneling, so we opted for the thinnest MDF we could find. Measure and calculate how much surface area you need. Decide how high you want it and how wide you want the panels. We chose to keep the window frame as the top.
Montage
- First we mounted the skirting boards so that the panels had something to rest on. We hung the panels with mounting adhesive and a staple gun. We determined the space between two panels with two passes. We made cutouts (such as the electrical outlet) with a Stanley knife. Finally, we mounted a molding on top.
Finish
- First, fill in the gaps with paintable sealant (for example corners or transitions with skirting boards). Because it is MDF, a primer suitable for MDF is important. Then paint. We used a very thin brush for the gaps and a roller for the flatter parts.
